YelaoShr expands nationwide with 66 new franchisees

YelaoShr marks a major milestone with 66 new franchisees onboarded nationwide, aiming to expand quality early education across Malaysia and beyond.

Malaysia’s early education landscape has entered a new chapter as YelaoShr officially became a licensed franchise brand, welcoming 66 new franchisees from across the country. This milestone marks a significant leap for the homegrown brand, setting the stage for rapid nationwide growth and deeper impact in the formative years of Malaysian children.

The onboarding ceremony, officiated by Malaysian Franchise Association Chairman Datuk Dr. Radzali Hassan, saw record-setting participation—making it the largest franchise signing event for an education brand in ASEAN.

“Franchising, when done right, can unlock social impact at scale. And that is exactly what YelaoShr is doing today,” said Datuk Dr. Radzali in his opening remarks.

A scalable model

Founded with a mission to elevate literacy and language proficiency among young learners, YelaoShr has grown from a grassroots initiative into a structured, scalable business model. With the franchise license now officially recognised under Malaysian law, the brand is inviting aspiring edupreneurs—educators, parents, and first-time business owners alike—to bring high-quality, personalised education to their communities.

Each new centre under the YelaoShr umbrella will be equipped with centralised training, proprietary learning tools, and operational support—ensuring uniformity in quality while still allowing for community-specific engagement.

“Franchising is not just a business model for us. It is a mission of empowerment,” said YelaoShr CEO Dr. David Yap Wing Fai. “Our goal is to make quality education accessible, sustainable, and transformative—one centre at a time.”

Powered by a four-pillar ecosystem

YelaoShr’s expansion is supported by a robust organisational structure that ensures its pedagogy, operations, and technology evolve in tandem. Four key entities make up the YelaoShr ecosystem:

  • YelaoShr Education Group Sdn. Bhd. – which oversees its flagship language and communication programmes;
  • YelaoShr Education Academy Sdn. Bhd. – in charge of teacher training and TVET initiatives;
  • Sribhagawan Innovation Group Sdn. Bhd. – the brand’s R&D arm focused on developing proprietary education technology; and
  • ClassOne Elearning Education Sdn. Bhd. – tasked with driving digital and cross-border learning solutions.

Together, they form a comprehensive support system aimed at achieving YelaoShr’s target of 300 centres in Malaysia by 2028, with regional expansion plans into Thailand, Cambodia, and Singapore already underway.

A vision for education reform

In conjunction with the franchise launch, YelaoShr unveiled a new book titled “Finnish Education is What Malaysian Children Need the Most.” The publication draws inspiration from Finland’s globally respected educational philosophy, reimagined through the lens of Malaysia’s Madani Education Framework 2025–2035.

“We’re building an ecosystem where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive, regardless of where they come from,” said Dr. Carol Yap Yee Yee, YelaoShr Co-Founder.

The book offers a blueprint for holistic learning—one that values both academic rigour and emotional intelligence, blending structure with creativity to better prepare children for the future.
