OrphanCare Foundation, a non-profit organisation devoted to helping institutionalised and abandoned children grow up in loving families, is joining forces with Janji Pictures Production to host a special film premiere and fundraiser on 13 August 2025. The OrphanCare Movie Premiere & Fundraiser will be held at DADI Cinema, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, and will feature an exclusive screening of Pavane for an Infant, a film that has touched audiences worldwide since its debut at the Tokyo International Film Festival in late 2024.
The emotionally evocative film explores the themes of abandonment and the human longing for belonging — themes closely tied to OrphanCare’s mission of ensuring every child has the right to grow up in a safe, permanent and nurturing family.
A call to action for change
The event is not just a night at the movies; it is a platform to raise awareness and support for OrphanCare’s vital work. The foundation operates baby hatches, facilitates adoption processes, and supports the reintegration of children from institutions into family-based care — a model proven to be more beneficial for a child’s development.
“Pavane for an Infant speaks directly to the heart of our mission,” said Riza Alwi, Advocacy, Communications and Fundraising Manager of OrphanCare. “Through this premiere, we hope to not only raise funds but also open eyes and hearts to the issues we tackle every day — abandonment, stigma and the urgent need for family-based solutions. Every ticket purchased is a step closer to ensuring no baby is left behind or lost to unsafe abandonment.”
