2025 GENM scholarship now open for young leaders

Genting Malaysia launches its 2025 Scholarship Programme, offering support to outstanding young Malaysians in celebration of its 60th anniversary.

Genting Malaysia Berhad (GENM) has announced the launch of its 2025 Scholarship Programme, reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility and national talent development. In celebration of its Diamond Jubilee and 60th anniversary, the company is expanding its support to exceptional young Malaysians who demonstrate both academic excellence and leadership potential.

Established in 2006, the GENM Scholarship has helped hundreds of deserving students further their education, many of whom have since become leaders in various industries.

“Since the inception of this scholarship, we have seen how access to education can open doors and create lasting change,” said Lee Thiam Kit, Deputy President at Genting Malaysia Berhad. “At GENM, we are proud to play a part in empowering talented young Malaysians to pursue their academic goals and build a better future for themselves and their communities.”

Scholarship criteria

The scholarship is open to Malaysian citizens aged 23 or below who are awaiting admission into full-time undergraduate programmes, either locally or internationally. Applicants must meet one of the following academic benchmarks:

  • STPM / A-Level: Minimum of 3 As
  • Diploma / Foundation: Minimum CGPA of 3.0
  • Equivalent results in other recognised pre-university qualifications

In addition to strong academic results, candidates are expected to demonstrate active involvement in extracurricular activities, leadership experience, and a commitment to personal development. Priority will be given to applicants from households earning less than RM10,000 per month and who are not currently receiving other scholarships or financial aid.

Focus on future-ready fields

The GENM Scholarship supports studies in key disciplines that align with Malaysia’s future development, including Hospitality, Engineering, Information Technology, and Business. GENM aims to nurture a new generation of professionals equipped to lead and innovate in these sectors.

Applications are now open and must be submitted exclusively through the official website by 15 August 2025. Hard copy submissions will not be accepted.
