Carlsberg Golf Classic 2025 tees off in style with record participation

Carlsberg Golf Classic 2025 ended in style at KLGCC, celebrating sportsmanship, record participation, and championship wins in top amateur tournament.

The 32nd edition of the Carlsberg Golf Classic (CGC) concluded in spectacular fashion at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC) West Course, offering participants a world-class stage that recently hosted the LPGA Championship. With a prize pool exceeding RM2.7 million, the 2025 tournament reinforced its reputation as Malaysia’s premier amateur golf series, celebrating not only skill but also camaraderie and sportsmanship — a true embodiment of being #BestWithCarlsberg.

This year’s nationwide series attracted over 3,600 golfers across 32 qualifying rounds, held in Johor, Kedah, Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Putrajaya, Sabah, Sarawak, and Selangor. The competition culminated in a national finale featuring 64 gross and nett champions from participating clubs, each vying for top honours on one of Malaysia’s most prestigious greens.

Champions rise to the occasion

The grand finale saw a spirited mix of friendly competition and elite performance. Lam Kong Foo emerged as the Gross Champion after a confident and consistent round, carding a score of 73 to secure the top title. Meanwhile, Kaashvini Sasi Kumar, a 21-year-old talent from Kelab Rahman Putra Malaysia, earned the Nett Champion title with a final score of 74, playing off a handicap of 6.

Reflecting on her victory, Kaashvini said, “I owe this to my parents and loved ones, who have been my biggest cheerleaders, believing in me even on my toughest days. Winning the Nett Champion title at Carlsberg Golf Classic means so much to me. Playing alongside golfers of all levels on such a course reminded me that golf isn’t just about scores, it’s about friendships, and the shared joy of competing together.”

Her words captured the essence of the tournament — one that unites golfers through shared passion and the spirit of continuous improvement, hallmarks of Carlsberg’s enduring association with the game.

Beyond competition, the 2025 Carlsberg Golf Classic highlighted the brand’s dedication to quality and innovation.
