Foodpanda Malaysia transformed its Sentul Depot into a vibrant hub of celebration for Panda Fiesta 2026, bringing together more than 1,000 delivery partners and their families in what has become the largest-ever gathering in the company’s history. The festival was designed to honour the grit, dedication, and everyday contributions of the delivery partners who play a critical role in keeping Malaysia moving.
At the heart of the celebration were the #AnugerahHeroTapau awards, which recognised 600 of foodpanda’s top-performing delivery partners. The awards carried a total prize pool of RM431,000, including gold bars and a brand-new Proton Saga, highlighting the company’s commitment to rewarding exceptional service.

Shubham Saran, Operations Director of foodpanda Malaysia, remarked, “Our delivery heroes are the heartbeat of our platform, and their dedication is the foundation of our success. While Panda Fiesta is a celebration of their resilience, this celebration is just one way we show appreciation for what they do every day.”
Ministerial support highlights gig economy role
The awards ceremony was attended by YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), who emphasised the essential role delivery partners play in supporting communities and local businesses. “The celebration recognised delivery partners not only for their performance but for the essential service they provide to our nation’s social and economic fabric,” she said, adding that initiatives providing long-term support are crucial for gig workers and their families.

One of the event’s most memorable moments came with the announcement of the grand prize winner, Mohamad Anuar Bin Tajuddin, 48, who said, “I never expected that delivering orders would lead to me driving home a brand-new Proton Saga. This is more than a prize. It proves that our hard work on the road is truly seen and valued.”
Community activities and partner support
Beyond awards, Panda Fiesta 2026 emphasised family-friendly and community-oriented activities. Highlights included the Panda Challenge Corner, arm wrestling competitions, and a dedicated children’s playground. Delivery partners and family members who run small businesses were also given booths to showcase their products, promoting engagement within the foodpanda community.
In recognition of the physical demands of delivery work, foodpanda Malaysia also launched a collaboration with Voltra to introduce Ezzy Shoes—high-performance footwear designed for long hours on the road. Five hundred pairs were distributed to outstanding delivery partners, and one pair was presented to YB Hannah Yeoh as a gesture of appreciation.

Lucky draws worth RM17,000 and the announcement of the upcoming Durian Runtuh 2026 Mid-Year Award kept the festive atmosphere alive, while Panda Pitstop engagement sessions allowed partners to share candid feedback on their challenges and ideas for future support.
Through Panda Fiesta 2026, foodpanda Malaysia reinforced its panda hearts initiative, underlining a long-term commitment to the wellbeing, safety, and growth of its delivery partners, fostering a thriving and sustainable gig economy.
