Carlsberg Malaysia concluded its three-day Chinese New Year celebration, CarlsCrib – CNY Edition, on February 1, transforming 1 Utama’s outdoor carpark into a lively hub of colour, culture and connection. Held from January 30 to February 1, the open-air event marked the Year of the Horse with a high-energy showcase themed Brewing Prosperity Together, drawing crowds eager to soak in festive cheer.
Visitors entered through a distinctive hop leaf archway into a space where Carlsberg’s signature green blended with auspicious reds, setting the tone for an experience that mixed tradition with contemporary flair. Running daily from 4pm to 10pm, the venue became a relaxed meeting point for friends and families, complete with festive décor, photo-friendly installations and a complimentary can of Carlsberg beer for registered guests.

“CarlsCrib – CNY Edition reflects how we bring the Carlsberg brand to life — through experiences that feel authentic, contemporary and centred around togetherness,” said Olga Pulyaeva, Marketing Director of Carlsberg Malaysia. “CNY is a moment when people seek connection, optimism and shared joy. This crib brings those values forward in a way that is true to our brand, as we continue Brewing Prosperity Together and creating moments that are truly #BestWithCarlsberg.”
Interactive experiences and adrenaline-filled highlights
Beyond the social atmosphere, the event offered a range of interactive activities. At CarlsBar, guests took part in cocktail workshops, crafting Carlsberg-infused “Fire Horse” creations, while various themed corners provided Instagram-worthy backdrops that blended festive symbolism with street-style aesthetics.
One of the main crowd-pullers was the Golden Gallop obstacle course, where participants raced against the clock to climb a live leaderboard. Held every two hours, the challenge rewarded top performers with prizes including a Case Valker 20” travel luggage worth RM499, duffel bags, limited-edition T-shirts and other exclusive merchandise.

The adjacent CNY Bazaar added another layer to the experience, featuring fashion and creative booths such as TNTCO’s exclusive drop and MBTM’s on-the-spot T-shirt design and printing station, allowing attendees to personalise keepsakes during the celebration.
Music, food and a festive finale
As evening set in, the main stage came alive with buskers, live house acts and headline performances. Highlights included Dissyco meeting fans on the second day in conjunction with promotions for their upcoming film “I’m Not Gangster”, and rising Mandopop artist Daniel Chezi, who performed on the final night.
Food stalls kept energy levels high with a mix of nostalgic snacks and inventive dishes, including Carlsberg-infused Beer-Braised Pork from Kuba Eats, Fifty Tales’ Mapo Tofu Noodles, Likki Chan Ice Cream and Floccus Floccus’ Lion Dance Angku.

With its blend of music, games, food and hands-on experiences, CarlsCrib – CNY Edition delivered a festive send-off to the Year of the Horse, reinforcing Carlsberg’s message of togetherness, prosperity and responsible celebration among Malaysians.
