The progress of the rail track project by Gamuda will be closely monitored even though the state has lifted the stop work order said Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng.
It lifted the stop-work order on Thursday, the same day it received a guarantee letter from contractor MMC-Gamuda Joint Venture Sdn Bhd, which promised flood-prevention measures and mitigation for flood victims.
Lim had previously said the order had been issued as a preventive measure to ensure Penang did not suffer the same kind of floods as Kedah two weeks ago.
