Calls were made by government backbenchers at the Monday (19 April 2010) state assembly sitting to ask the state government to negotiate with its federal counterpart, the quantum of oil royalty for Sabah.
The request, they said, should not be perceived as trying to take advantage of the present situation and that the request is reasonable if Sabah asked for it. Jeffery Kitingan concurred with their opinions.
