Wakaf Bharu fosters expansion through free WiFi

WAKAF BHARU – 11 hot spots were provided with free WiFi services within the vicinity of Wakaf Bharu as a gift from the Kelantan state government.

11 hot spots were provided with free WiFi services within the vicinity of Wakaf Bharu recently. The ADUN of Wakaf Bharu, Che Abdullah Mat Nawi who is also an EXCO member of Kelantan state government, launched the latest free WiFi spot at the Wakaf Bharu wet market on May 26, 2012.

He said that the free services was provided to educate more people  on the use of the internet especially youth groups.

Wakaf Bharu, a small town in the Tumpat district has a railway station and is well-known for its wet market fondly known as “Friday Market” near “Pasar Besar Wakaf Bharu” or Wakaf Bharu Big Market.

Besides the mosque and several surau, there is also a church and a Siamese temple in Wakaf Bharu . More than 90 percent of its population are Malays and the rest are mostly Chinese and Siamese.

Che Abdullah reiterate that the free Wifi is a gift from the state government to the people of Wakaf Bharu and the first of its kind provided by the state government. He said more hot spots will be identified later and the services may be introduce to other parts of  the state as well.
