A man was believed to be hit by shot-gun pellets in the hands and feet while hunting wild chicken in an oil palm plantation near Kerdau, yesterday.
The victim, Wan Mohd Fadzil, 28, was hunting with a friend in Ladang Jentar when the incident occurred at 6.45pm, said Temerloh police chief ACP Mohd Noor Mansur.
He said the victim was believed to have been accidentally shot from a distance of about 20 metres.
“The victim’s friend, who was five metres away, went to his aid when he heard shouts of pain and found him in a pool of blood,” said Mohd Noor.
He said the victim was taken to the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Hospital here where seven pellets were removed from his hands and feet.
The police have arrested a man in his 30s and seized a homemade shot-gun and pellets from him.
The case is investigated under Section 37 of the Firearms Act 1960.
