Volunteering to keep Johor Bahru safe during festivities

The Johor Bahru Tiong-Hua Association urged more people enlist with the security team, to serve the community and help to increase public awareness pertaining crime prevention.

Johor Bahru Tiong-Hua Chinese Association had formed a security team, comprising of 50 members ranging from ages 18 to 70 years old, to help with security during the festive season.

Members were recently trained by Tae Kwan Do coach Liew Kim Moi and have attended a Police seminar with DSP Ooi Kok Seong, ( Ketua Polis Traffic & Ketenteraman Awam of Johor Bahru Selatan) to equip them with martial art skills for self-defense and legal knowledge to work together with the police force.

The Johor Bahru Tiong-Hua Association’s President, Lim Ik Kim in the closing ceremony for the training session said the security team member are volunteers and are willing to serve the community. They are provided  with uniform and worked in teams to help prevent crime and to control traffic during the festivities.
