The number of flood evacuees in Johor increased from 815 people at 3pm to 908 people as at 10pm last night.

According to the National Security Council, as posted in its flood portal, three more flood relief centres were open in Mersing, and six in Segamat, bringing the total to six and 11, respectively.

In Batu Pahat, the number of relief centres remained at five, while in Kluang, all the flood evacuees had been allowed to return home.

The Drainage and Irrigation Department portal stated that following heavy rain, the water in Sungai Muar at Buloh Kasap, Segamat, rose to the danger level of 9.21m, while at Sungai Lenik in Ladang Chaah, Batu Pahat, it was 6.11m.

Sungai Muar in Bukit Kepong, Muar, has reached the warning level (2.77m); Sungai Bekok at Bekok Dam (16.53m), Sungai Senggarang in Senggarang Batu Pahat (3.18m), Sungai Segamat in Segamat (9.18m) and Sungai Muar in Kampung Awat, Segamat (19.55m).

The areas affected by the floods are Kampung Tandong, Kampung Paya Pulai, Kampung Mensudut Pindah, Kampung Orang Asli Segamat Kecil, Kampung Kuala Paya, Kampung Sanglang, Kampung Melayu Raya, Kampung Batu Badak, Kampung Poloh, Kampung Paya Dalam and Kampung Spangloi in Segamat. In Mersing, the flooded areas are Kampung Sawah Datuk, the Endau National Park, SK Tenglu, Pertubuhan Peladang Mersing, Kampung Tanah Abang and Kampung Simpang Penyabong.

In Batu Pahat, the areas hit by floods are SK Bukit Kuari, SK Bandan and Kampung Parit Khalil, Taman Sri Kota, and Kampung Parit Haji Kamisan in Yong Peng.
