The Tourism Ministry is developing a national biking trail starting from Johor Baharu to the national capital, minister Dr Ng Yen Yen said.

She said from Johor Baharu the route will take bikers to Mersing, then to Rompin, Pekan and Kuantan in Pahang, before going up to Terengganu and Kelantan, and back to Temerloh before heading towards Karak and ending in Kuala Lumpur.

This is one of the green tourism being promoted under the ministry’s tourism calendar, she told reporters after closing a forum on “All I Want is an EcoGreen X’Mas” yesterday.

The forum was organised by the Malaysia Youth 4 EcoGreen Initiative (MY4Eco) and aimed to motivate and engage the youth into the “green” movement and lead “the green revolution.”

EcoGreen, is a brand new green movement platform for the youngsters to champion green-related issues.

She hoped that the forum could create more awareness on the need to preserve the environment, adding that this would help promote the country as a green place with many beautiful beaches, marina parks, islands and tropical forests.
