Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (MRT Corp) has established four permanent information centres in key areas in the Klang Valley to facilitate access and dissemination of information to the public on the nation’s largest public infrastructure project, MY Rapid Transit (MRT).
Located in Kota Damansara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Bandar Tun Hussein Onn and Kajang, the MRT information centres, which began operations on Nov 29, aim to educate the public not only on the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT line but also on how the project can significantly improve the Malaysian quality of life.
MRT Corp chief executive officer Azhar Abdul Hamid in a statement today said the information centres would serve as one-stop resource hubs for the public.
“The information centres allow the public to easily and conveniently discover what the MRT is all about and how it will form the backbone of the country’s public transportation system and contribute to the nation’s growth,” he said.
The information centres boost the interactive hawk’s eye 360-degree application that gives visitors a virtual bird’s view of the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT alignment, including station location details as displayed with detailed project information, as well as video and brochures on the MRT.
According to the statement, two more upcoming MRT information centres would be set up at KL Sentral and Bukit Bintang in the near future.
The centres are open to the public from 9am-6pm on Monday to Friday and from 9am-1pm on Saturday.
