A signature campaign was simultaneous held at the Democratic Action Party (DAP) Bakri opening of its central operation centre at Taman Kenanga, Muar Bandar Di Raja today. The event complete with the traditional Lion Dance was attended by close to 200 people.
Muarians attending the event signed a banner which carried the words “Kami bersama mu Ambiga.” This is to show their support for the Bersih co-chairperson in her incremental contribution towards the country’s journey towards a clean and fair election.
Senior DAP members including ADUN Skudai Boo Cheng Hau and chairperson of DAP Johor Tony Pua Kiam Wee, Bakri MP Er Teck Hua, Rasah MP Anthony Loke Siew Fook and others graced the occasion.
Speaking to Citizen Journalist Malaysia (CJMY) member of the state legislative assembly for Skudai and chairperson of Johor DAP Boo Cheng Hau said that Ambiga Sreenivasan is regarded as a heroine by all Malaysians and that DAP has started a signature campaign in her defense for having started a non-violent action against the regime for fair and clean elections.
“I hope all parties who had threatened her safety will think about the message she is trying to send to all Malaysians,” he added.
To a question by CJMY to comment on the recent ‘butt dance‘ by army veterans, Boo said “I think it is very uncivilized and degrading.
‘Dissatisfaction and disagreements should be expressed in a more civilized way. As former army officers they should known how to respect others,” he added.
