More than a thousand people had great fun and in the process learned about cancer at the Relay for Life 2012 in Penang on 23 and 24 June.
Organising chairperson James Lochhead said that the event is all about these 3 words – celebrate, remember and fight back. Penang CM Lim Guan Eng was present to give a speech and joined in the first lap.
He said that the Penang government will always support the survivors.
Participants came in teams representing hospitals, schools, colleges and they all took turns walking round the track for 16 hours.
The teams also set up stalls and there were food stalls too. Entertainment and games were aplenty to keep the participants awake.
