A spokesman at the State Flood Operations Room said another flood relief centre was opened to accommodate the increase in the number of victims, bringing the total to 28.

Floods have hit seven districts in Kelantan – Bachok, Kota Baharu, Kuala Krai, Machang, Pasir Puteh, Tanah Merah and Pasir Mas, which is the worst affected.

In TERENGGANU, there is no improvement in the flood situation with 2,402 people still at the 46 flood relief centres in the state.

They comprise 573 people in Besut, 112 in Hulu Terengganu, 1,540 in Setiu, 166 in Kemaman and 11 in Marang .

The level of rivers at several places have breached the danger point in Setiu, Besut and Hulu Terengganu.
