Perak Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir urges the people to help promote the state’s iconic products for Visit Perak Year in 2012.
Speaking during the launch of Visit Perak Year 2012 outside the State Secretariat Building here today, he said the government hoped that by doing so they could assist in increasing the flow of tourists to the state.
“It is the best approach, among others, to ensure the success of the 2012 Visit Perak Year campaign with the active cooperation of the government and its related agencies, to raise the tourism sector in Perak,” he emphasised.
Also present at the launch was Tourism Executive Councilor Datuk Hamidah Osman.
Zambry said the people’s contribution could have a big impact in attracting foreign as well as local tourists and promotional activities such as advertising on vehicles, distribution of brochures and mass media advertisements were being actively carried out at present.
He then handed over a banner to the Perak Media Sports and Welfare Club, which has organised to scale Mount Kinabalu on Nov 28 in conjunction with the campaign, to be put up at its peak.
