Forms for a special government aid of RM500, as announced by Prime Minister Najib Razak when tabling the 2012 Budget, will be distributed for free in December.
Inland Revenue Board (IRB) chief executive officer Dr Mohd Shukor Mahfar said the aid would be given to households with a monthly income of less than RM3,000.
“Forms can be obtained from the respective IRB offices, district offices and can also be printed from the IRB’s official website,” he added at a news conference, here, today.
For rural areas, Mohd Shukor said the IRB would use the service of district offices, village development and security committees (JKKKs) and village chiefs to inform the public when registration would be held in their areas.
“We will carry out mass registration in remote areas, while the process will be carried out automatically in the districts.
“Upon approval, the applicants will receive a letter and payment through Bank Simpanan Nasional or the post office,” he said, adding that only Malaysian citizens were eligible for the special aid.
