Motorists and motorcyclists were issued with 185 summonses for various offences in a two-day traffic operation which ended yesterday.
Dubbed ‘Ops Motosikal’, it was jointly conducted by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and National Anti-Drug Agency.
The operation was held at seven locations in the city frequented by teenagers for illegal racing at night, including Jalan Durian Burung, Jalan Batu Buruk and Shahbandar.
State JPJ director Abdul Rahman Emang Anyie said 13 vehicles were confiscated and 367 others were inspected for tinted windows and licence plates which did not comply with JPJ specifications.
Other offences included expired road tax, modification of licence plates and motorcycles without side mirrors.
On its part, the anti-drug agency handed over 19 motorists, aged between 20 and 30, to the police when they tested positive for drugs.
