Jimmy Leow Beng Hock“Withdraw eviction order or get blacklisted”, that’s the stern message conveyed by Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng to a developer in Penang. Lim said the developer has been very insensitive towards the Kg Batu Uban villagers when the developer’s lawyer sent eviction orders during the Hari Raya festival.
It is learnt that the developer had purchased the land from several owners and is planning to construct two blocks of condominium, 33 level high housing 200 units valued at RM390,000 and above.
According to the lawyer’s letter dated Aug 16, the villagers have to move out of their homes in 14 days, failing which the developer will initiate legal action against them.
