Needy groups get RM28,000 in Deepavali bash

Ong Chong Swen has called on society to devote more kindness to the less fortunate during festive seasons at a deepavali bash in PJS10 recently.

MCA Kelana Jaya parliamentary liason officer Ong Chong Swen has called on society to devote more kindness to the less fortunate during festive seasons at a deepavali bash in PJS10 recently.

She said Malaysian irrespective of race and religion have always been celebrating various festivals together, and that unique culture should be extended to the less fortunate.

“The Hindu observes Deepavali as the ‘festival of light’ while the Sikh community ushers it in as a ‘celebration of freedom’,”

“Nevertheless, Malaysians at large will celebrate the festival together,” she said.

Ong contributed a total of RM28,000 to 12 Indian NGOs and Hindu temple committees to be channeled to the needy.
