Thirty motorcycles were confiscated and 130 summonses issued in a joint operation at Merdeka Square, Jalan Tun Perak and Jalan Raja Laut, Saturday night.
Kuala Lumpur traffic police Enforcement and Operations officer, DSP Ng Sook Long, said the joint operation by police, Road Transport Department (RTD) and the Department of Environment (DOE), was from 11.30pm to 3am.
He said the owners of the seized motorcycles were aged 18 to 30, and were mostly penalised for modifying their motorcycles.
“A total 130 traffic summonses were issued for various offences including using excessive tints for their windscreen and window screens and two for dangerous driving,” he said.
The operation involved 68 traffic and narcotics policemen, 17 RTD personnel and 20 DOE officers.
