All prisons will be closed for visits during the first day of Aidiladha except for the Kamunting Detention Centre in Taiping, Perak.

The Malaysian Prisons Department, in a statement today, said that visits to all prison institutions, reform centres and the Henry Gurney School were fixed for the second and third day.

The department said priority would be given to Muslim inmates. Visits would be from 8.15am to 4.15pm.

All visitors must bring along their visitor’s card and identity card to facilitate transactions but were not allowed to bring food and drinks for the inmates.

Visitors were also not encouraged to give money to the inmates. However, if they needed to give money, such as, for paying examination fees, an official receipt PPT.28, must be obtained, as proof of receipt.
