As Deepavali draws closer, people are flocking to Lebuh Pasar, the only Indian shopping enclave in Georgetown, Penang.

The stalls which were erected along the pavements of Lebuh Pasar were brisk at business, capitalizing on the last minute rush to buy prayer items, sweets and savories, traditional clothings, cookies and decorative ornaments.

Citizen Journalists, Jimmy Leow walked Lebuh Pasar from one end to the other, capturing the last minute preparation to celebrate Deepavali.

The Deepavali hustle and bustle at Lebuh Pasar
The festival of light celebrated with cookies delight
Festivals are all about a good old-fashioned chat with family and friends
Money for prosperity
Grandpa's hug for love and security
Of flowers, lights, colours and dangling deco
Brilliant choices from the bangles bazaar
That's my celebratory balloon!
The smell of fine incense fill the air
Flowers for prayers
A careful exchange to not smudge the Henna
Palm art
Ample to choose from
Decoration in motion
A great shopping experience!
