Promoting family spirit and neighbourhood unity

Subang Jaya – The celebration is a community affair where everyone chips in to make the event a success.

The “Pesta Tanglung & Hari Malaysia” Celebration” organised by Subang Jaya assembly person , Hannah Yeoh’s office was held at the Laman Sukan MPSJ in USJ1on September 29, 2012. The event was well supported by the local USJ community leaders and the Selangor State Government.

This event is to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and Malaysia Day. For the past two years, this event has received very good response from local residents in USJ. This year more than a thousand Subang Jaya and USJ residents attended the celebration.

This is a community-based affair where everyone chips in to make this event a success – in the spirit of family and neighbourhood unity.The program for celebration includes Dragon Dance performance, cultural dances and songs presentation.

The organiser gave out 1500 goodie bags with moon cakes, drinking water, free ice creams and also paper lanterns and candles.  Highlights of the dual celebration was the lantern procession around USJ 1 led by a lanterns float and three thematic decorated trishaws. Participants were given free rides on the trishaws..
