Nasim Sdn Bhd, the exclusive distributor of the Peugeot vehicles in Malaysia, expects to sell 150 units of the newly launched Peugeot 508 per month.
The sales will be driven by a strong line up of award-winning cars, differentiating them from competitors and a beefed-up network, said its chief operating officer, Samson Anand George.
More than 100 units have been booked since last month without any advertisment, he said during a media briefing after the car’s launch yesterday.
“By next week, we can start the delivery process,” he said, adding that in 2012, the new car will contribute 20 per cent to the company’s revenue.
He said the company also expected to sell an overall of 5,000 to 6,000 units of its vehicles by end of 2011.
“Our sales for the first nine months have exceeded 4,000 units.” In 2010, the company recorded total sales of 2,829 units. The year-on-year growth rate as of end September 2011 was 100 per cent of that shown in the same period in 2010.
Meanwhile, the target market for the new car, priced at RM169,888, will be mainly professionals, business owners and top management staff in Malaysia.
To date, the company has 17 service centres nationwide, and new centres will be also opened soon in Kota Kinabalu, Sungai Petani, Seremban, Kepong and Kuantan.
