A teacher suffered losses of RM6,000 when a burglar broke into her house at Taman Tanah Putih Baru yesterday.
Khairatul Azlina Abdul Karim, 33, said she only realised that her house was broken into when she and her four sons, aged between five months and five years, returned home at 9am after spending the night at her mother’s place located only two kilometres away.
“When I opened the door, I was shocked to find that the house was in a mess and the side door was slightly ajar,” she told reporters at the house.
Following inspection, Khairatul Azlina said a laptop computer, a digital camera, a gold ring and her sons’ coin boxes were missing and that she had also lodged a report at Pekan police headquarters at 9.51am.
Pekan deputy police chief DSP Amran Sidek confirmed receiving a report on the incident and said that the police were in the midst of tracking down the suspect.
