The Print Room opened its 10: Abstract Photography Exhibition on 10th October, featuring 30 different abstract photographs by 10 photographers. Among them are Yong Yen-Nie, a freelance journalist; Richard Kaye, a mathematician; and, Yong Khean, a medical doctor.
The Print Room describes itself as “being devoted to nurturing film photography in Southeast Asia. The advent of digital technology may have democratised photography as an art form, but we believe that it’s only in film that photographers can truly appreciate the demands of light, shadow and colour and the rigours of composition … The Print Room aspires to build awareness and enhance appreciation for the visual arts, particularly in classical fine arts photography.”

Abstraction stimulates discussion
The Print Room is carefully adapted from a 1970s bungalow, and now houses a studio. It is a lovely exhibition space that also fulfils the requirements of the white box
