Seven ghazal music groups enter Malaysia Book of Records

Johor could do with more publicity for its arts and culture, and more venues to promote its heritage to the world.

Seven ghazal ensembles from the Johor Ghazal Association successfully entered the Malaysia  Book of Records with a 24-hour non-stop performance in a special Sound of Johor Arts And Cultural Carnival organised recently at Taman Merdeka, Johor Bahru.

This was the first time this traditional popular musical performance in Johor is getting such strong publicity.

Johor could do with more publicity for its arts and culture, and more venues to promote its heritage to the world.

The Sound of Johor is a joint programme of the Johor State government; the Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture; and, the Ministry of Tourism, to share and local art and cultural performances of Johor heritage.
