Muar Indians celebrate Johor Sultan’s Birthday

MUAR – Hindus in Muar celebrated the Birthday of the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar at the Nattukkotai Chettiars Sri Thaendayuthapani Temple, Muar recently. [VIDEO]

The special prayers to Lord Muruga which included the carrying the shrine of Lord Muruga, The Tamil God of War, around the Nattukotai Chettiar Temple, Muar commenced at 7.30 and devotees were treated to anadhanam (food).

Speaking to Citizen Journalists Malaysia (CJMY), spokesperson for the temple K.M.Palani said that the special prayer to Lord Muruga to bless the Sultan with longevity and well wishes to continue to rule the state with peace and harmony.

The Temple is grateful to the Sultan who cares for the people, he added.
