The body of a newborn baby girl, with her umbilical cord still intact, was found in a well at Kampung Kacang Limbat near
here on Saturday.
Tuan Mat Tuan Lunik, 64, a rubber tapper, said he was getting some water from the well when he saw a bag floating in it.
“I pulled up the bag and when I opened the zip, I was shocked to see a baby’s face,” he told reporters when met at the scene.
Tuan Mat said he informed the village head about the finding and the latter then contacted the police.
Meanwhile, Kelantan police chief, Datuk Jalaluddin Abdul Rahman, who confirmed this, said the police also found a plastic bag containing a blouse, sarung, underwear and a towel with blood stains in a hut about 20 metres from the well
He said the body was sent to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for a post-mortem.
He urged those with information, including of a person acting in a suspicious manner seeking for treatment to contact the police.
