Tan Kai SweeAn explosion in the Empire Gallery shopping complex in Subang Jaya early this morning has caused at least three floors of the building to collapse, injuring four people. Below are pictures taken by Citizen Journalist KS Tan.
The aftermath of the explosion that ripped through 3 floors of the Empire Shopping Complex in Subang Jaya in the early hours on 26th Sept 2011.
The explosion occured at around 3 am in the morning. Two security guards an two patrons were injured.
The explosion was so powerful that a Volkswagen Golf GTI parked outside the Complex was severely damaged.
The Empire Shopping Complex which comprises of a shopping mall and hotel opened for business only last year.
The explosion ripped through shops at the lower floors of the Empire Shopping Complex
Most of the lower ground shops were ripped apart by the powerful explosion.
The fire that razed through the Empire Shopping Complex were subdued by the Fire and Rescue Departments of Subang Jaya, Shah Alam and Puchong

Many questions were left unanswered and there will be much debate as to safety of shopping malls and complexes sprouting all over the Klang Valley.
