The Fire and Rescue Department is proposing to add another 30 new fire stations under the 10th Malaysia Plan, said its director-general Wan Mohd Nor Ibrahim.

The Fire and Rescue Department is proposing to add another 30 new fire stations under the 10th Malaysia Plan, said its director-general Wan Mohd Nor Ibrahim.

He said the new fire stations were needed to provide fast and effective service in each state throughout the country.

Among the states requiring new fire stations were Pahang, Johor, Perak, Terengganu, Sabah and Sarawak which had high population densities, he said.

Nonetheless, he said plan depended on approval of the government.

He was speaking to reporters after attending an excellence awards ceremony of the department here here today.
