A public university student was charged at the Ampang Magistrate’s Court here today with the murder of a 19-year-old
female student at an apartment early last month.
Muhammad Khari Nor Aziz, 19, was alleged to have murdered Nurul Awathif Mohd Shakir at B-119 Apartment Sri Wira, Jalan Ukay Perdana 2, between Sept 4 at 9pm and Sept 5 at 2.15am.
Prosecution was carried out by Deputy Public Prosecutor Faridah Nurdine Bahrum according to Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries a mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
The accused, represented by counsel Zamani Dolmat, looked dejected and was seen nodding when the charges were read out before Magistrate Wan Karimah Wan Abdul Ghani.
However, no plea was recorded.
The court has set Nov 8 for remention of the case while waiting for the post-mortem and chemistry reports.
The media previously reported that the second year Quantity Surveying student at a university in Seri Iskandar, Perak, was remanded for a murder case of a teenage girl.
