The Kembara 1Malaysia convoy comprising 254 superbikes, flagged off in Kuala Lumpur yesterday to promote the spirit of the 54th National Independence Day, arrived at the Matriculation College in Arau yesterday.
The 254 motorcyclists, led by Defence Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, were greeted by Perlis Menteri Besar Dr Md Isa Sabu and Perlis Youth and Sports Committee chairman Abdul Jamil Saad.
Subsequently, in the evening, the ride would be heading to Penang with Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail flagging off the riders from the same college.
Ahmad Zahid told reporters that members of the ride also handed over cattle to the army camps to be slaughtered for the Hari Raya Aidil Adha soon.
The ride, also joined by popular singer Siti Nurhaliza on Saturday, will end its journey going round Peninsular Malaysia at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol), on Thursday.
