Easing traffic congestion for the future generation

GEORGE TOWN – Penang CM, Lim Guan Eng spoke at length on the our-phase integrated transport system for Penang (VIDEO)

We need to plan for our future generation said Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, in an exclusive interview with Jimmy Leow of Citizen Journalists Malaysia, recently.

The four-phase integrated transport system for Penang has been the talk of town with public dialogues being held around the state.

The RM6.3 billion mega project covers a 6.5 km undersea tunnel from Gurney Drive to Bagam Ajam in Butterworth; 4.2 km expressway bypass  from Pesiaran Gurney to Persiaran Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu ; a 4.6 km expressway and by-pass fromTun Dr Lim Chong Eu to Bandar Baru Air Itam and a four-lane 12 km road linking Tanjung Bungah with Teluk Bahang.

Lim explained that the state has no choice but to propose the project, which to be completed in 2025.

The project also did not receive an cooperation from the federal government.
