The police today reminded the people not to participate in any gathering organised by the Movement for Change, Sarawak (MoCS) tomorrow because no permit had been issued for it.

Kuching police chief Asst Comm Mun Kock Keong said the police had obtained a court order to act against the organiser and participants should they ignore the police directive.

“The police are empowered to detain nine individuals, including MoCS chief Francis Siah, if they are found in the vicinity of the Sarawak Museum compound tomorrow afternoon,” he told reporters in Kuching.

The MoCS had planned what it called a ‘Walk for Democracy and Reform’ at the Museum Garden tomorrow.

Mun said the police would be stationed at several strategic locations.
