Four hundred students from six schools in Lembah Pantai received 1Malaysia laptops under the National Broadband Initiative programme today.
Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin said the laptops were given to the needy students.
“The computers are provided to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural students,” he told reporters at the handing over ceremony of the laptops at Lembah Pantai community centre.
The recipients were students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seri Pantai, SMK Bukit Bandaraya, SMK Dharma, SMK Methodist, SMK Petaling and SMK Bangsar.
