The 2013 Macau Women’s Sport Carnival jointly organised by the Macau Sports Development Board and the Women’s General Association of Macau had participation from invited women’s teams from Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, HongKong, Jiangmen and Guangdong.
There were participation from 51 local groups with a total of 5,700 participants for this sport carnival.
This 2-day event in March 2013 included a seminar on sports and cancer prevention which was held at the Macau Tower.
On the final day, a series of recreational and sports events were held at the Tap SEAC Sport Pavilion.
The Macau team emerged champion in the sports section whereby the invited foreign teams participated.
This is the 11th year of the Macau Women’s Sport Carnival since 2003.
The focus this year is on the positive effects of sports towards women’s health especially in cancer prevention.
The Malaysian team was represented by 11 members from the Johor Bahru Happy and Joyous Club, for the second time since 2012.
