The police have traced the husband of a woman whose body was found dismembered in plastic bags at an abandoned apartment unit in Taman Kosas, Ampang last Wednesday.
The body of a five-year-old boy, which was also found in a plastic bag at the unit of the Astaria Apartment, has been confirmed to be that of her son.
Selangor police chief Tun Hisan Tun Hamzah said, based on the 29-year-old man’s statement which was recorded yesterday, he was not linked to the double murder.
He said the man, who was from Sabah, claimed the bodies of the two victims yesterday, but had not made any missing persons report.
The DNA test results had ascertained the identity of the boy as that of the woman’s son, added Tun Hisan.
Nevertheless, the police have declined to reveal the man’s identity and details of his marriage to the victim.
On Wednesday, police found body parts and human organs, including intestines, in several plastic bags and in the toilet bowl of the apartment unit.
Two days ago, eight foreigners, believed to be Bangladeshis, and aged between 26 and 38, were detained in Ampang in connection with the murders.
A tool, believed to be the murder weapon, was seized by the police in a nearby apartment unit.
