Johor’s very own “Heritage Race” by JB Arts Festival

JOHOR BAHRU – Participants in teams of 4 had to complete a 13.8km route with 18 checkpoints for some fun tasks and to get questions to be answered and win some cash prizes. [VIDEO]

About a hundred people took part in the Heritage Race – Season 3 organised by the 10th JB Arts Festival on Malaysia Day, September 16, 2013.

The theme was ‘The 18 Hills of Johor Bahru’.

The patron and advisor of the JB Arts Festival, Tan Sri Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad flagged off the race.

Participants in teams of 4 had to complete a 13.8km route with 18 checkpoints for some fun tasks and to get questions to be answered and win some cash prizes.

The winning team with the prize money of RM2,000 went to the team comprises of Sin Yvonne, Marco Tee See Chin, Leong Teng Hou and Sam Soh Han We.

The 2nd place team with prize money of RM1,500 comprises of team members Pavanjit Singh, Sharsindra Pratheen, Aaron Lee Ming Yin and Shaarvin Pilla, all aged 19.

The 18 hills are Bukit Timbalan, Tanjung Puteri (Meldrum), Cagar, Stualng, Senyum, Jepun, Mahmoodiah, Gambir, Chengkih, Redan, Zahrah, Bintang, Lalang, Kopi, Kurnia, Polis, Serene and Seri Manggis.

Located on these hills are some of the heritage sites of Johor Bahru.
