A motorcyclist died after he crashed into a tyre that fell off a lorry at Km 375.8 of the North-South Expressway, near Tanjung Malim last night.
State Traffic Police Chief Supt Wan Abdullah Ishak said in the 8pm incident, Syed Ahmad Mubarak Syed Omar, 25, was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle from Penang to Kuala Lumpur when a tyre fell off a lorry in front of him.
The victim, in his attempt to avoid the tyre, lost control of his machine and skidded on the road, Wan Abdullah said when contacted today.
The victim was sent to the Slim River Hospital for severe head and body injuries. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
Five other cars also skidded trying to avoid the tyre. No serious injuries were reported among the drivers.
