JOHOR BAHRU – The controversial mural by Ernest Zacharevic was erased off on Nov 13 with white paint by the Johor Bahru City Council workers. The newly-added Lego policeman that was to ‘save’ it did not materialized.[VIDEO]

The controversial mural by Ernest Zacharevic was erased off on Nov 13 with white paint by the Johor Bahru City Council workers. The newly-added Lego policeman’s effort to  ‘save’ the girl from the robber did not materialize.

A policemen’s picture was added next to Ernest Zacharevic ‘s street art of a girl and a robber the night before. In the morning and around lunch time, the public flocked the venue to see for themselves and to take pictures of these 3 characters. Many expressed positively towards these pictures, but to the disappointment of many by 4pm, these pictures were gone.

Ernest Zacharevic, a Lithuanian-born, is an internationally-acclaimed street artist.  His street arts in the forms of murals are well recognized and accepted in Penang.
