Disciplinary action against state public servants involved in 9 July rallies

Terengganu Menteri Besar, Ahmad Said has warned civil servants in the state that disciplinary action will
be taken against those who participate in the rallies scheduled on July 9.

Terengganu Menteri Besar, Ahmad Said has warned civil servants in the state that disciplinary action will
be taken against those who participate in the rallies scheduled on July 9.

He said stern action, including expulsion, would be taken against those caught at the rallies.

“We will not compromise because as public servants, they should always protect the good name of their service,” he told reporters when met today.

He said the people would stand to lose if the rallies were held as they  could tarnish the country’s image and scare away foreign investors, apart from causing damage to property.

Meanwhile, the Terengganu PAS Youth is targeting to get 50,000 of its members from the state to participate at the rallies.

“Our members will only gather to submit a memorandum on the eight demands to the Election Commission and there is no intention at all to create a commotion,” said its vice-chief, Kamaruzzaman Abdullah, at a media conference today.
