TAWAU – The Sabah Religious Affairs Department is monitoring three groups suspected of being involved in deviant teachings here for the past few years.
Its representative in Tawau, Abdul Imam Basirun, said they were suspected of being followers of the Islam Jamaah, Qadiani and Al-Mansur (Rufaqa) sects. They were said to be active in Kampung Jawa Kongsi 8, Kampung Titingan and Bandar Sabindo.
“We’re also gathering information on another deviant movement, Naqsyabandiah,” Abdul Imam told Bernama.
He advised Muslims who are interested in learning more about Islam to seek proper guidance from qualified religious officers.
Abdul Imam also urged anyone with information on suspected deviant movements to contact the department.
