Desperate times: man electrocuted while stealing wiring

SUNGAI PETANI – A housewife got a shock when she found a body in the ceiling of her house in Taman Ria Jaya here yesterday. The body was of a man, believed to have been electrocuted while trying to steal electrical wires from the abandoned house.

“On entering the house at 10.30 this morning, I saw a stain looking like blood on the ceiling. I also smelt something burning.” The housewife known only as Faridah then rushed to a nearby police beat base to report the matter.

She said a police team arrived later and, upon knocking on the ceiling, something which appeared to be a human leg dropped down. Firemen then removed the body and sent it to Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital for an autopsy.
