Even with no right to arms, homemade guns are possible, as a woman in Perak found out when she got shot outside her home.

RANTAU PANJANG – A woman was shot at close range by an unidentified man, believed to be using a homemade gun, at her home in Kampung Gual Periok, near here, early Thursday morning. Leha Che Soh, 39, from Thailand sustained injuries on the left side of her chest.

The 3.15am incident happened as she opened the door of her house after hearing a commotion outside. She was sent to the Pasir Mas district hospital and subsequently referred to the Raja Perempuan Zainab II (HPRZII) hospital in Kota Baharu.

HPRZII public relations officer Zaid Ahmad said her condition was stable and doctors were in the process of removing two bullets from her body. Meanwhile, the victim said she did not have any misunderstanding with anyone as to be targetted.

Pasir Mas police chief ACP Haliludin Rahim, when contacted, confirmed the incident, adding the police were investigating the motive. The case is being investigated under section 307 of the Penal Code, for attempted murder.
