Negeri Sembilan police believe they have busted a major car theft syndicate with the arrest of six men and the recovery of 10 stolen vehicles worth about RM200,000.
Negeri Sembilan CID Chief ACP Hamdan Majid said the vehicles, comprising nine cars and a lorry, were recovered in Sepang, Kajang, Cheras, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.
“All the vehicles seized were reported stolen in Selangor.
Initial investigations revealed that the stolen cars were sold to unsuspecting buyers or car workshops,” he told reporters today.
Four of the suspects were detained in Negeri Sembilan while another six were detained in Melaka and Selangor. All the suspects, aged between 20 and 30, are believed to be unemployed.
“We believe they have been active since last year,” he said.
