Over 1,100 students compete in JAZRO Cup 2025

JAZRO Cup 2025 draws over 1,100 students nationwide, uniting public and private sectors to boost STEM and robotics education in schools.

The JAZRO Cup 2025, Malaysia’s school robotics competition organised by JAZRO Robotic Academy, has garnered robust backing from both public and private sectors. Government-linked agencies including Cyberview, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) via its MyDigitalMaker initiative, MRANTI, Petrosains, and PETRONAS Innovation Garage (PING) have teamed up with corporate sponsors such as Muslim Pro and Yayasan Mr DIY to make robotics and STEM education more accessible nationwide. JAZRO’s investor, Gobi Partners, has also joined as a key sponsor.

Endorsed by the Ministry of Education, the competition targets primary and secondary school students across Malaysia, offering opportunities to develop skills in robotics and coding while encouraging creativity and innovation.

Over 1,100 students

Since its launch in early July, the JAZRO Cup 2025 has drawn 1,138 students from 141 schools nationwide — including 656 participants from urban areas and 482 from rural schools. Organisers say this strong turnout underscores the event’s growing role in bridging the urban-rural divide in STEM education.

“We are thrilled by the support JAZRO Cup 2025 has received so far,” said Ir. Dzulfarqeish Zainuddin, CEO of JAZRO Robotic Academy. “The backing from both government and private sectors reflects a shared commitment to preparing young Malaysians for a tech-driven future. With over 1,100 students participating from all parts of the country, we are proud to see the JAZRO Cup becoming a truly inclusive platform that nurtures innovation and inspires future leaders in science and technology.”

Faith and Innovation

Muslim Pro, one of the private-sector sponsors, emphasised the importance of supporting grassroots education.

“We are proud to support the JAZRO Cup 2025 as part of our commitment to empowering communities through education,” said Nafees Khundker, Group Managing Director & CEO at Muslim Pro. “As a Muslim mobile app, we believe that science and faith are not separate paths, they complement and strengthen one another. This initiative aligns deeply with our values of nurturing knowledge, curiosity, and purposeful innovation. Supporting platforms like JAZRO that open doors to STEM and robotics for young minds is a natural extension of what we stand for.”

The competition covers six regions — Sabah, Sarawak, East Coast, Northern, Southern, and Central — and features two categories: coding and non-coding. The national-level Grand Finale will take place on 15 August 2025 at Rekascape, Cyberjaya, where Malaysia’s brightest young innovators will compete for top honours.
